Hypnotist and Comedy Auction Night (This Sat night)
We need everybody to promote this night for the club and invite family, friends or anybody you know who might be interested in coming along to a fun night. Its a very important night for our club as it is one of our major fundraisers. We expect everybody to attend and is compulsory for all players so please support your club.
Milestone
Congratulations Danny Ruck who this week plays his 150th game for Corio. Should our club name a team of the century Danny would surely have the honour of being named at full back. Danny first played seniors in 1996 after being a member of the U\18s premiership team the year before and also winning their best and fairest. Danny won the senior best and fairest in 1998 and was the seniors assistant coach the following year. Along the way he has been named in the GDFL interleague team multiple times and is currently vice captain of the seniors and showing no signs of slowing down once again playing consistent football for the seniors so far this season. Danny has been an outstanding defender for our club over many years and we would like to wish Danny all the very best for this milestone.

Seniors Vs Werribee Centrals at home Corio 14-11-95 to 13-15-93
Goals: Leigh Clifford 5, Bill Nicholls 4, Clint Bamford 1, Scott Evans 1, Shane Manning 1, Jed Potter 1
Best: Leigh Clifford, Jed Potter, Barry Otoole, Andrew Ferguson, Matty Wade, Danny Ruck
In windy, dark, and overcast conditions the seniors notched up their first victory of the season in a nail biter to take the much needed points. The seniors almost at full strength couldnt of needed the win any more finally playing football that everybody knew they could. Leigh Clifford was back to his best in a best on ground performance in conditions that probably werent suited for forwards but still managed 5 goals. Jed Potter back in the side didnt waste any time and straight away reminded everybody of how important he is to the side. Barry Otoole once again bobbed up in the best players getting plenty of the ball and smashing up packs and desperately diving into contests. Andrew Ferguson is another player who if he gets plenty of the ball will make a huge difference during the season. Matty Wade and Danny Ruck were both again our best defenders and have both had great starts to the season. Billy Nicholls played a pivotal role as another much needed option up forward and slotted through 4 majors. This is just the confidence booster the seniors needed and should kick start the year onto another season with endless potential.
Reserves Vs Werribee Centrals home Corio 7-13-55 to 21-8-134
Goals: Shaun Gundry 2, Matthew Cullen 2, Troy Feldman 1, Geoff Mitchell 1, Travis Wilson 1
Best: Danny Tallentyre, Dale Greaves, Trent Hogan, Frank Posilovic, Chad Rivott, Chris Laurie
What a shock as the reserves hit a massive speed bump after starting the season so promising. From all reports the side played poor football but will probably get a lot out of the defeat as every game needs to be 100 percent played out even at reserve grade. Danny Tallentyre and the ever reliable Dale Greaves and Chris Laurie were the shining lights in defence foiling many attacks forward by the opposition. Trent Hogan made the most of his opportunities standing out getting plenty of the ball. Old timer Franky Posterofigous and ruckman Chad Rivott both fought hard for the seconds getting plenty of the ball and showing the youngsters how its done. El Presidento Robbie Walton was in no doubts why the reserves went down stating the reason was simple I Didnt Play.
U/18 Vs Werribee Centrals home Corio 4-4-28 to 10-14-74
Goals: Ash Cullen 2, Dylan Taylor 1, Josh White 1
Best: Rhys Marshall, Josh White, Corey Bourke, Stevie Lee, Ryan Loone Garcia, Steven Grooby
The Under 18s only played half a game of football and will definitely learn it takes 4 quarters of football to win a game. Rhys Marshall, Josh White, and Corey Bourke were the standouts but will need a hand from their 18 team mates if the side is going to start winning games.
U/16s Vs Modewarre at home Corio 9-5-59 to 15-14-104
