After revising the affiliations of clubs in each age group, the MCDFNL along with a number of Junior delegates have been able to revise the 2012 Junior fixtures to ensure each side is playing the maximum amount of games throughout the season.

The Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL season kicks off this weekend with an Easter Saturday game between the Maldon FNC and the Campbells Creek FNC, taking place at Woodfull Reserve Maldon this Saturday 7th April. The match will be played to coincide with the Maldon Easter Fair, and as “stand alone” game that is being played 2 weeks prior to the other fixtures kicking off, the match is sure to draw a huge crowd and give MCDFNL supporters a taste of what's to be expected during the 2012 season.

Due to the outstanding success of last year's Father v Son's football match, the club will be holding another game this season.
This is early notice, so put the 17th June in your diary for the match to take place.
This is the Sunday after the Natte game.
The game will commence at 11am and will be followed by a BBQ Lunch.

This Saturday's practice match against Rovers will be a six quarter Senior/Reserves game.
The game commences at 12.30pm.
Unfortunately, There is no junior football games and also no netball games.

Auskick will be commencing on Thursday 19th April commencing at 4.15pm to 5.15pm.
Auskick will be held every Thursday evening until the 28th June.
Except for the 24th May. There will be no Auskick on this date.
Auskick registration fee is $55.00 which includes a pack of goodies.

Avoca Under 15 & Under 17 football played Beaufort at the Avoca Public Park tonight.
The Under 15's got a football lesson from a much bigger and talented Beaufort team, but tried hard all night and showed signs of a promising season ahead.
The Under 17's played Beaufort Under 18's and the local boys had a good win.
It was a great hitout for both sides in front of a very big crowd.
Thanks to all of those that helped out on the night and to the linemarkers for marking the ground earlier today.

The Avoca Public Park was a hive of activity tonight with a big roll up to the Netball Registration Night and it was also the first training run of the Under 15 footballers. With about 25 Under 17 players also in attendance and 33 senior & reserves footballers also running around, the atmosphere was electric.
It augers well for a great season ahead!

Please be advised that there will be an information and registration night for all grades of netballers and parents at the clubrooms tomorrow night 8/3/2012. All players under the age of 18 will need parents to sign the registration forms on their behalf. Junior registration will start at 6.30pm which will then be followed by a brief presentation about the year ahead. There will be a BBQ tea provi...ded at minimal cost. We encourage all players, parents, committee members and supporters to attend.

The Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football & Netball League has pleasure in announcing that highly respected regional football identity Wayne Driscoll has been appointed MCDFNL senior Interleague Coach for the 2012 VCFL representative game against the Horsham District FNL.
Wayne is a highly credentialed Coach who has played Senior Football across the state. Wayne has previously Coached the Lexton Plains FL Interleague side in 2009 & 2010 and has previously held Senior Coaching positions at the Navarre FC, Glenthompson FC and Penshurst FC (both in Mininera District FL) and Horsham Saints FC (Wimmera FL). In recent years Wayne has also Coached the Navarre FC Under 14 side with great success. In his highly decorated playing career Wayne played representative football for the Lexton Plains FL, Colac & District FL and the Mininera District FL on 8 occasions

For those of you that can remember the 1979 Reserves Football Premiership, you should also remember a player by the name of Geoff Collins who was a very good on-baller and was amongst the Bulldogs better players in the Grand Final.
Geoff has gone on to make a living in the greyhound industry and his dog, Zara Zulu won the 2012 Australian Cup on Saturday night.

Avoca FNC are seeking volunteers to man the gate for a 2 to 3 hour shift at the Avoca Music Festival at the racecourse over the weekend of 23-25th March.
This could be a very good fundraiser for the club, so please get involved.

The Avoca Football Netball Club is saddened to hear that Navarre's, Snow Parry, passed away early this morning. Mon 27th Feb.
Snow was a unique individual who had the abilty to make people laugh. He always had a yarn for you, and as such, we always looked forward to playing the Grasshoppers, as you knew that Snow would have a new joke for you.
He was a great person and will be sadly missed.
Our condolences to Snow's family and to the Navarre Football Netball Club .
PARRY. - The Funeral of the late Mr 'Snow' Graeme Parry will leave the Navarre Community Hall after a Service commencing at 11 a.m. SUNDAY (Mar. 4, 2012) for the Navarre Cemetery.

Judging on the past two training runs by the Avoca Netball Girls, they should be a very fit unit this season.

What a great atmosphere surrounded the Avoca Public Park tonight.
25 senior players on the track, and 18 Under 17's, plus another 20 netballers running around created a great feeling.
The club has signed a number of new footballers and netballers to the club and it looks to be a promising season ahead.

Senior football training commenced tonight and a very good roll up was the result, with a number of new faces on the track.
Under 17’s will have an unofficial training run next Wednesday evening. February 1st commencing at 5pm. A number of the older 17’s players can then have a run with the seniors training that will follow at 6pm.
Training for the Under 15’s will commence in March sometime.

Word on the football grapevine is that after having last season in recession, Kevin Torago has decided to make a comeback with Avoca FNC in 2012.
All supporters of the Avoca FNC will be very happy to hear this news.
Kevin is a powerful machine and has the ability to move fast under pressure.

The 2012 Bendigo Bank MCDFNL Season will commence on Easter Saturday as part of a newly created fixture. All 14 clubs were asked to submit requests to the league and the draft fixture reviewed by all clubs prior to the AGM. In one of the season highlights, Maldon will take on a revitalised Campbell’s Creek as part of the Maldon Easter fair on Saturday 7th April.

The WorkSafe VCFL is pleased to see another ‘brick in the wall’ fall into place in the Castlemaine Kyneton Maryborough Junior Review (CKMJR) process with the acceptance by the Bendigo Junior Football League clubs to change their age groupings for the 2012 season.

The Avoca Football Netball Club will be holding a Christmas Break Up at the Avoca Public Park on Monday 19th December.
Football Training for all players including Juniors if they wish to attend will commence at 6pm.

There was a good crowd in attendance for the first pre-season training at the Avoca Public Park with a few new faces also on the track.
It was a good workout under new coach Adrian Pilgrim who explained his requirements for the upcoming season.
Training will be held again next Monday evening at 6pm.

The Avoca FNC held a very successful meeting on Tuesday evening at which a number of positions were filled. The club is restructuring and introducing a number of new roles to ease the workload of the Club Executive.
The club is working on the successful model that was in place during the 90’s which split all of the club roles amongst club members, which allows the President and Secretary more free time to cover the more urgent matters that arise during the season.
