BACK TO BACK PREMIERSHIPS - A. GRADE NETBALL

The Dunolly A. Grade Netball Team played a fantastic game to take out their second Premiership in a row against Avoca.

Dunolly got off to a great start throwing 5 goals before Avoca scored. Great defensive pressure applied on centre passes caused Avoca to turn over the ball on many ocassions giving Dunolly the opportunity to convert. At the first change Dunolly held a 5 goal advantage.

The send quarter was closer with both teams settling and again Dunolly won this quarter to hold a six goal lead at half time.

A shakey start by Dunolly in the third quarter allowed Avoca a few quick goals however Dunolly gained their composure and went on to win the third quarter.

Dunolly held a comfortable lead heading into the last quarter and with goalers goaling with confidence the girls knew all they had to do was to keep possession and convert their centre passes. Avoca fought hard in the last quarter to out score Dunolly by two goals however this was not enough to get over the line. Dunolly ran out winners 53 to 45. 

Best on court was awarded to Dunolly's Ashlee Edwards who played a great game at Goal Attack.

Our Senior Football team were beaten by 9 points and although dissappointed it has been a fabulous effort by everyone to come from 8th position last year to playing in a grand final.  This loss with make the boys even more hungry in 2010.

Congratulations to Shannon Motlop for being awarded Best on Ground in the Grand Final.

Also Congratulations to Dunolly players who won awards at the MCDFNL Presentation Nights.

Dunolly's Senior Club Presentation Night will be held on Friday 2nd October, 2009 at the Maryborough Golf Club. Cost is $ 30.00 per head. Two course meal.  Booking essential. Contact Vicky on 0438 383 085.
