What a huge year it was for Masters in Townsville this year and next year promises to be even bigger. The over 45s National Carnival Championship trophy and the Queensland Country Championship trophy are on display at the Coolsports store on Charters Towers road, drop in and check them out.
On Saturday 12th October the Townsville Sharks motored up the coast to Cardwell for the Cardwell challenge against the old enemy, the Cairns Brewers. Making the longer trip from Airlie Beach were Jack and his boys from the Bald Eagles, who were keen to get amongst the action. (On and Off the paddock)
The Queensland Country Championships 2012 will be played on the Sunday of the Queen’s Birthday weekend in Townsville.

WHEN it came to the crunch, there was simply nowhere else organisers wanted the biggest AFL carnival in Australia to be played.
The 2012 AFL Masters National Carnival will be held in Townsville.At the Masters’ presentation dinner at the 2011 Carnival on the Sunshine Coast, AFL Masters National President, Peter Coffey announced that the 30th AFL Masters’ National Carnival will be held in Townsville 6th – 13th October 2012.
Queensland picked up two Championships along with a few Best & Fairest awards to go with a host of All Australian selections at the recent National Carnival held on the Sunshine Coast.
On a typically beautiful North Queensland afternoon the Queensland Country Championships were held on the Queen’s Birthday Weekend at Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville. The Championships were contested by 2 teams from Townsville and a Cairns team with included some players from the Whitsunday Bald Eagles.

TOWNSVILLE Sharks have secured their 11th-straight title in the Queensland Country AFL Masters with a dominant 70-7 victory over Cairns at the weekend.
AFL Masters Townsville have great pleasure in announcing Cool Sport as the official Game Day Sponsor for this years Queensland Country Championships.
Training will be a practice match, Sunday 15/05/2011 at the Tigers ground 10am for a 1030 start. We need as many players as possible to attend.
Nominations for the 2011 National Carnival on the Sunshine Coast in October 8th - 15th are now being taken.
The Airlie 12’s were conducted over the Easter Weekend and it as a great success with the Townsville Sharks successful in taking out the shield.
The Queensland Country Championships 2011 will be played on the Sunday of the Queen’s Birthday weekend in Townsville.
Due to the ongoing weather conditions that we have been experiencing in the Whitsundays we have had to transfer our Whitsunday 12s Carnival from South Molle Island to Airlie Beach on the mainland.
Under a sky of grey and heavy cloud, the annual Cairns Masters carnival was competed by teams from all parts of the State. The Capricornia Barbarians led by Spicey, with a healthy contingent from the developing Bundaberg Brewers, the Townsville Sharks led by the ever ready Luke, and the Cairns contingent led by our outstanding coach Egg.
