  HISTORY

Aston Villa had its beginnings in Bundaberg in 1967 when Les Davis began coaching the local school children at the Welcome Creek State School on the way to Moore Park.  In 1969, a Welcome Creek side was entered in the local Bundaberg Competition for the first time.

In 1970, ASTON VILLA was adopted as the team name after the famous club in Birmingham.  The English club gave their written permission to the Bundaberg club to adopt their distinctive Claret and Blue colours.

Aston Villa entered its first team in the Senior Bundaberg Soccer competition in the mid seventies.  Villa’s First Division debut came in 1976 and they won their first Grand Final in 1986.  The Club also won the South East Queensland League in 1987, as well as several Charity Cups.

In 1993 Aston Villa joined forces with The Brothers Sports Club to become BROTHERS ASTON VILLA.  The Club trains at the Brothers Club complex.

Brothers Aston Villa’s best known junior product is the Sydney FC and Australian representative goalkeeper Clint Bolton.
