Mitchell Wild is another first time player to competitive AFL with a rugby league background, but with an amazing athletic pedigree to support him in his AFL challenge.
The 27 year old works as a personal trainer for Tribe fitness in Taren Point which is a good indication of his passion for his own personal fitness.
After 15 years of player rugby league, Mitchell gave it up to pursue triathlons. Over a number of years, by pursuing his passon for fitness, Mitchell completed an ironman triathlon in 2011. This entails a 3.8klm swim, 180 klm bike ride, followed by a 42 klm (marathon) run which he completed in 10 hours and 25 minutes. Great effort Mitch!
Mitchell has followed AFL for a number of years, and after missing the adrenalin rush of competitive team sports, and at the urging of Joshua Robert Barry, he has joined St. George AFC to try his hand at AFL.
Mitchell, is tall & athletic and has worked hard on the track during pre-season sessions, and is looking forward to his first competitive game of AFL for the Dragons.
