WELCOME TO WINTER SEASON 2011

Welcome to the Winter 2011 Netball Season. We start the Winter Season with a host of new players as we have a staggering 116 players registered and for the first time. We now have 14 Teams competing in various age groups and section levels.

I welcome all the new players and parents to the club and hope you have an enjoyable time with us. This year the Selection Committee has had a hard task into putting teams together and is a very difficult time for our Selection Committee. We try to take everything into consideration so we ask that you “trust” our decisions and to do your best in your new teams. We thank them for all their hard work and for all the work done on Selection Day.

Thank you again to all our umpires and coaches this season as they volunteer their time each week and do an excellent job. We are very proud of the high level of coaching we have at our club. Please assist our coaches by advising them when you are unable to attending training or a game. And don’t forget to turn up at least 15 minutes prior to each match to ensure you are warmed up and ready for that starting siren and we wish all teams and coaches a successful season.

As we are now past our grading games all teams would have been notified of any changes to your team

fixture re sections and times. Your fixture is now available to view via our website:

www.churingasaints.sportingpulse.net.

REPRESENATIVE SQUAD

TRAINING

Training has commenced well at Yarra Valley Grammar again this season as this is the third year training at this venue and is working well. All teams train as a club and provides a great club culture and the ability for all players to train as well as socialise with each other. This also enables the club to observe and monitor player development and to deal with any issues as a club when they may arise. This also helps with club

communications eg: fixture changes, fundraising, and upcoming social events.

UMPIRE AND COACHING DECISIONS

From time to time there will be umpiring and coaching decisions that you do not agree with.   If you feel that a matter needs attention we ask you to speak to a Club Committee Member directly or by correspondence. If necessary, the club, on your behalf can raise any issue with LYVNA.   It is not acceptable to harass or

intimidate people under any circumstances. Spectators are to remember that all genuine grievances will only be dealt with through official channels.

VIDEO AND PHOTO PERMISSION

Please note: permission must be sought from both teams before taking photos or videoing (a request from LYVNA). This means when taking photos on a Saturday at the courts permission from both teams must be given prior to any photos or video being taken.

I wish everyone a successful Winter Season and most of all….. HAVE FUN!!
