OUR FINALS CAMPAIGN CONTINUES !!
For those that committed to the very early start and made their way to Wallan last Saturday on the coldest Wallan day on record (I might have just made that up.....or I could be correct !) it was all worth it to see all 3 Burra Football teams come home with the wins !
The U18's just got the job done nicely in the driest part of the day, before the rain came in sideways and saw our Reserves hold on to their undefeated status in an absolute nail biter, beating the Kangaroos by less than a goal for the third time this season.
The weather was no better, nor the margin, for the Seniors game which had the crowd, although by now frozen, enthralled and involved up to the final siren.
A big thank you to all the diehard Burra supporters that turned out in massive numbers to support our boys to three wins and a very happy trip home ! And thank you to the netballers who made their way to Wallan for no other reason than to get behind their Club. That's what the Burra is all about !
The exciting Burra Finals continue this weekend with our Reserves and Seniors playing at Riddell on Saturday and our U18's in another Elimination Final on Sunday morning at Sunbury Kangaroo's ground. Our boys will tell you it makes a huge difference when they hear their supporters, so we all have a role to play in helping our Football teams progress to where we all want to be.
If our Seniors or Reserves win this weekend, they will have secured a place in the RDFNL Grand Final in two weeks time. So let's do what we do best and get to the games this weekend to help our boys over the line. Details of each game are inside the Blog.
We also have our very last, but very important Football milestone for the season this weekend. See inside the Blog for who it is, and the tributes to this long time Diggers Rest Footballer.
And don't forget to book your attendance at our Annual Presentation Night. It's looking to be a ripper this year and tables are filling quickly so please make sure you see Amy or Peta as time is running out.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in their Burra colors and with loud voices at Riddell on Saturday and Sunbury on Sunday.
Happy Father's Day to all our Dad's on Sunday, and good luck to all our Football Teams this weekend !
