The season over and we’ve had time to reflect.
With all things considered despite only getting the two wins for the year, I would say the Under 14's had quite a successful year.
Success in junior football is based on development and I think everyone involved would say the kids have improved immensely over the season.
They really worked well as a team and started to enjoy their foot-ball.
We had a no put down rule and the kids adhered to it really well, always encouraging and supporting each other.
We were very competitive with even the best in our division and even had the opposition teams paying compliments on our com-petitiveness and hard work.
The best and fairest count this year was a tight race, mainly due to the hard work and even spread of the hard work across the team.
We selected four captains this year and they all did a fantastic job, showing great leadership all year so I would like to thank all of them.
I would like to thank all the parents who helped out this year, in particular those that helped week in and week out.
I would like to thank my wife Donna for her work as team man-ager and washing of the jumpers practically every week.
I would also like to give a huge thank you to my son Luke for his assistance.
Most importantly I would like to thank all the players, it was an honour to have coached you all for the year you are all a great bunch of kids and I wish each of you the best with your football and life in the future.
