I would like to start out by thanking the Under 12B kids for providing me with my most enjoyable season as a coach over the past season. It was most satis-fying to stand back and watch as a parent and a coach and see the improve-ment in all the children throughout the season.
To finish off the year playing finals for most kids first time, was a fantastic re-sult. A willingness to learn and dedicate themselves at training resulted in on field success and a more mature brand of football. This was evident in all players; however our most improved player award winner Jack Foster typified that the more you practice more you will improve.
I would like to congratulate Stephen Cusack for winning our Under 12 Best and Fairest for the second year running. Steven also came runner up in the RDFL Under 12B Best and Fairest for the second year in a row. Well done Steve.
Our runner up for this year was Alan Sinclair. The way Alan applies himself to his football is a credit to him. To see him using his opposite foot during games this year when required was great to see. Good job Alan.
Our most consistent performer for the year was Tyhe Macdonald. For a sec-ond year player, Tyhe is very versatile playing in attack, defence and ruck. I look forward to watching him progress next year.
Most courageous player this year goes to a girl who didn’t just make up the
numbers in our team each week. Brianna Woodburn placed fourth overall in our best and fairest. The way Brianna backed herself week in and week out was a credit to her. She was always willing to learn and was respected by her team mates.
I would like to thank David Farrar for his dedication to the team manager’s job over the last two years. David’s organisation of rosters etc... ensured match
days ran smoothly for all involved. Thanks to my assistant coach and runner Matt Cox for all of his help at training and on match days. And a big thank you to Samantha Farrar who was always on hand to care for our kids as trainer throughout the year.
Big thanks to all the parents for making my job as coach such an easy one over the past two years. You should all be proud of the great kids that you have. Thanks for all of your support of the kids and help with match day duties.
I would like to thank the kids from the Under 12C side who helped fill in for us when we were short of players during the year. Particularly, I would like to
thank Jack Dalgleish, Luke Weber and Riley O’Meara and their parents for giving up their time to help out.
Finally, I look forward to seeing the Under 12B kids step up another level to
Under 14’s next year. You have been a pleasure to coach. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
GO TIGES.
