The Curra Swans will take on the North Mackay Saints tomorrow at Muldoon Oval.
The Swans will be fielding a mix of senior and reserve grade players with a handful of U17 players having a run as well.
Stand in Coach Brent Doyle is looking forward to see how some of the new faces at Curra perform.
We have some new faces and it will be good to see how they go. We will also be trying players in position they may not be used to which will be interesting in itself Doyle said.
Doyle is expecting about 30 players to get some game time in the trial and is expecting North Mackay to run about 28 to 30 players as well.
Everyone will get some game time during the match and the bench will be used heavily to give players a break. It’s the first hit out so we need to make sure we look after the players and manage their fatigue factor. Some blokes will be able to run the game out and others will probably struggle said Doyle.
The Swans have had an interrupted pre season due to the wet and the coaching staff looking forward to the players having a run.
Training has been an issue over the last 6 weeks Doyle Said with numbers varying in line with the weather. We have had good numbers on the track this week and the players will be better for the run on Saturday.
The game starts at 3pm with 4 x 15 minutes scheduled.
Players are required at the ground no later than 2pm.
The Swans will be putting on a bbq for their visitors after the game before heading to the Clubs new watering hole the Mad Cow.
