Curra Swans players dominated the Townsville Under 18 Eagles
side that competed at the recent Central Queensland championships in Mackay. 13
of the 23 players were from the Swans in a further indication of a bright
future for the Swans.
Former Swan Khyle Goodman who is on a scholarship with Redland
Bay was also in the squad but was given a ticket straight to the next level. A
further 3 young Swans that most likely would have made the squad were unable to
join the Eagles program over summer.
Some of these boys will be playing senior footy in 2010 and the
rest will follow in the next few years.
Congratulations to the following players
Max Tink, Joel Sim, Taylar Webb, Harold Maroa, Dave Faulds,
Jayde McGregor, Brodie Cassa, Tristan Dennis, Sam Staib, Broderick Hill, Aiden
Johnson, Michael Roverts and Shane Lindgren,
Tank, Sim, Webb, Maroa,
Faulds, McGregor and Cassa were all top age players and will be representing Curra
at senior and reserve level in 2010 with the exception of Sim and Webb who are
joining Goodman in Brisbane to further their careers.
Dennis, Stab, and Hill are with this years Under 17 squad
and are to be congratulated on making the Eagles as bottom age players. Both
Dennis and Hill tasted senior football in 2009 so expect to see these boys step
up to the senior ranks in 2010.
Johnson, Roverts, and
Lindgren, are all bottom age Under 17 players and are also currently training
with the Under 16 Eagles squad. Well done boys for making the U18 Eagles.
