Saturday’s AFL match in Cairns between Gold Coast and Richmond severely depleted the Swans playing stocks for the clash with ladder leaders Thuringowa Bulldogs on Saturday.
The Bulldogs totally smashed the Swans after quarter time to inflict a 115 point hiding on a side that has serious intentions on being a force come finals time.
To be a force a side must be committed to the cause and unfortunately for the Swans that was not evident on Saturday. Those that did play were obviously committed with 6 or 7 players backing up and playing 2 games with the Reserves even calling on a couple of juniors in their loss to the Lions.
The Swans started well enough to be only 10 points down at the first break but after that the flood gates opened and it was all one way traffic.
Not much more can be said about the day other than to put it behind and focus on the run to the finals.
