The Swans returned to the winners list this week with their first win since round 14.
The Swans may have not produced their best game of football to notch up the win but again showed flashes of what could be with a devasting 7 goal third quarter to take a 49 point lead into the final break to set up the much needed confidence booster in the lead in to the finals.
The Hawks had plenty of the ball early but failed to convert their chances into goals and trailed the Swans by 9 points at the main break despite having 1 more scoring shot. That proved to be costly as the Swans blew the Hawks away in the third kicking 7 goals 3 to the Hawks 2 goals.
The Hawks rallied in the last but again missed opportunities to put scoreboard pressure on the Swans who managed only 1 goal 1 into the strong breeze in the last quarter.
The win is a timely one with the Swans meeting the second placed Tigers next week for the fourth time in 7 weeks. With a few players away this week and a few out of form selections for the senior side out at Muldoon Oval will be interesting to say the least.
