The Curra Swans Colts overcame a determined Bulldogs outfit in the first half to book a place in the Grand final and a weeks rest with a scintillating second half in the Farley Cup 2nd Semi final at Tony Ireland Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Swans got off to a flying start kicking 4 majors and denying the Bulldogs a goal in the first quarter but that changed in the second with the Bulldogs taking the game right up to the Swans. By the end of the second quarter the Bulldogs had reduced the margin to 16 points and the scene was set for a contest in the second half of the much anticipated clash.
The Swans came out firing after the main break and quickly put to bed any thoughts of the Bulldogs stealing the show. And what a show the Swans put on kicking 9 of the remainig 12 goals of the game to storm away with a 50 point win.
John Macansh again put in another best on ground performance and was well supported by Joel Sim. Liam Hope-Shackley put in a blinder in defence to continually turn the Bulldogs away.
The Swans now get a well earned rest before the Grand Final and their opponents will be decided by the Preliminary Final clash between Thuringowa and Shalom.
