Sam Raumer has taken out the prestigious “Darren Hoare” Players Player Award for 2013.
Big Sammy is new to the Swans in 2013 having moved from Cairns to attend JCU.
It wasn’t long before we all realised what a great addition Sam would make to not just our seniors side but to the Club in general.
From early on it was evident the tall boy from Cairns could take a mark, kick goals from outside fifty and win the footy at ground level.
Sammy has played just about every position from wing to ruck and key position posts through out 2013. Rover being the only spot he may not have lined up for.
Not only can he play but Sam has been a great to have around the Club. A great role model and aspiring doctor Sam has made a very big impression at Muldoon Oval.
One of the early favourites to take out the award along with Nathan Wescombe and Adam McDonald it was no surprise to see Sam Ramer add his name along some Club greats to the Players Player award.
In the Reserves it was the larger than life Robin “Pumba” Kerr that comfortably out polled his peers despite missing a large chunk of the middle of the season. Pumba had a stand out year at full back and really does deserve to be named Reserve Grade Players Player.
In the Colts it was another big man Jake “Jaws” Ward polling the most to be justly rewarded for an outstanding season for the 18yr old.
