The Curra Swans will travel to Cairns next weekend to take on Cairns Saints at Cazalys Stadium.
With the NAB Challenge game on the night before and an AFL Masters carnival following the Swans V Saints match its a footy feast weekend.
The Swans are thrilled with the oportunity to play at such a great venue and are looking to take a large squad to Cairns.
Coaching staff are expecting to take 30 plus players north next weekend including some of the Clubs U17 players to give them a taste of senior footy early in 2009. With a few of these boys expected to force their way into the senior ranks this year this will be a great opportunity to impress the senior coaching staff.
The Swans have a lot of new players this season as well and the trial match will give the coaches a good insight as to the possible make up of the senior playing list for the coming AFL Townsville season.
So its off North along the Bruce Highway with youth, new players and old the Swans will head to begin their preperation for season 2009.
