A very youthful Curra Swans nearly caused a boilover against the undefeated Uni Hawks at Mulddon Oval on Saturday.
Match Report from Scot Beynon.
With a large crowd there was a touch of nervous apprehension before the seniors match at Muldoon Oval on
Saturday.
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead however at no stage were able to put our boys away.
At three quarter time the boys had a sniff and with inspiring words from coach Pyle Curra came steaming home.
With ten minutes to go the lead had been cut to 8 points which brought the Curra faithful to their feet.
The momentum changed and the Hawks were able to slam on a few late ones to put the game out of reach.
It has been a long time since I have seen the ovation a side that was on the wrong end of the scoreboard receive as they walked off the field after the game.
THE SHED was abuzz after the game and it was great to see the Hawks hang around. Kell and the boys must be
congratulated on the spirit in which the game was played and we look forward to
returning the favour when we meet you at your home.
Congratulations must go to Harold Maroa, Taylar Webb and Kyle Goodman on their first A grade games.
Better players were StevenTayler, Jason Drew, Nathan Wescombe, Ben Keep, Adam Mc Donald and Kurt Poole.
In the early match the score may have blown out late in the match but the reserves must be commended on their endeavor
and as was mentioned after the game each player in that side must be trying to gain a spot in A grade.
Young players Tristian Dennis, David Faulds, Wallace Wall, Liam Hope-Shackley and Harold Maroa did not look out of place in the reserves and must not be far off gaining A grade selection.
Better players were Grant
Symmons, Shane Malone and Mister Reliable Dylan Bycroft.
