The Curra Swans U17 team continued their unbeaten run last Saturday when they were convincing winners over the Hermit Park Tigers, 16.15.111 to 2.5.17. Multiple goal scorers Jayd McGregor and Max Tink kicked 4 and 3 goals respectively, whilst Tristan Dennis and Sam Britton kicked 2 goals each. It was another polished team effort and a big thankyou to the Curra U15 players, Jye Drewitt, Aiden Johnson, Sam Britton, Jake Badoino and Jake Ward who all stepped up to experience footy at a higher level.
Best on the day for Curra were Dave Faulds, Harold Maroroa and Brodrick Hill. The team also welcomed back their 2 Shalom College players, Andrew Brown and Sam Staib rucked well all day whilst Liam Hope-Shackley was solid in defence. A huge effort by Brad Simmons, not only playing the U17 match but also backing up off the bench for both the Reserves and Senior matches. A number of other senior U17 players backed up for the Reserves and Khyle Goodman was rested so he could play in the Senior team.
We must farewell Ashley Nunn and Mick Derbyshire, who have moved to Victoria and Brisbane respectively during the last fortnight. Both were regular contributors to the team and they will be missed for the remainder of the season. This Saturday the team is scheduled to play the Bulldogs again at Muldoon Oval, kick off is at 11.30am.
