Premiership front runners University Hawks gave the Swans a reality check at Tony Ireland Stadium on Friday night.
The Swans went into the match full of confidence after posting a draw and a win in their last two games and the Hawks were smarting from their first defeat of the season the week before.
It had the makings of an exciting contest and the match began with the Swans and Hawks evenly sharing possession of the sherrin.
The Swans however failed to convert possession into points and therefore did not apply any scoreboard pressure on the Hawks.
Without that pressure the Hawks were able to continue with their game plan and as the lead the grew the Hawks ran more freely.
Best for the Swans were N.Wescombe, B.Hill, B.Doyle, T.Webb and D.Anspach.
The Swans are a young side and are still yet to learn to run harder and create pressure wether in front on the scoreboard or behind. They are fit enough and need to grow mentally tougher to claw back into a match.
Fortunately for the Swans there are three rounds left before the finals to build on the momentum of the last 3 weeks.
