The Curra Swans all conquering Under 17 side play rivals Hermit Park in the AFL Townsville Under 17 Grand Final at Tony Ireland Stadium today.
Having only lost 1 game all season the defending premiers go into the match as red hot favourites.
The Swans had a light run on Thursday night in preparation for todays match and according to team manager Steve Sim the feeling among the playing group was all positive.
Sim said the boys really wanted this one. A lot of these boys have been together for 3 or 4 seasons and have tasted premiership success together. This is the last time a lot of them will play together as juniors and they are keen to finish their junior journey together as winners.
The Swans finalised their side on Thursday night and were forced to leave out their 2 Shalom players. Sim said there had been some issues out at the college and unfortunately Andrew Brown and young Lyle are unavailable.
Under 15 players Aiden Johnson, Dominic Stout-Milkens and Jake Ward have been named in the final 23 with Ward named as emergency.
The Swans have a host of players that have tasted footy at the higher levels of Reserves and Seniors this season and those players are expected to lead the way in the final.
Taylar Webb, Khyle Goodman, Brod Hill, Max Tink. Jayd McGregor, Joel Sim have all played A grade at some point in 09 while David Faulds, Wally Wall, Harold Maroa, Liam Hope-Shackley, Tristan Dennis, Brad Simmons have all had an impact in the Reserves this season.
The Swans should win this one and continue their recent dominance over the Tigers.
