Stand in Coach Brent Doyle was very pleased with Saturdays trial match against North Mackay at Muldoon Oval.
In atrocious conditions both sides slogged it out in very intense game of football.
The Saints got up by four goals although three of those came in the final 10 minutes.
It was close all day and both sides ran plenty of rotations to have a look at some new faces and trying players in different positions.
Doyle was wrapt with the turnout with the Swans fielding 40+ players during the course of the game.
Considering the weather the turn out was a good sign for the Swans who still had some quality players sitting the game out.
For Doyle and absent Coach Darren Gwynne the match was not about winning or losing but more about getting the players out on the paddock and into footy mode.
Training is good for many things but its out on the field of battle the coaches really get to see who is made of what. To that end Doyle said he got a lot out of the game but was also keen to see how the players go in the dry. Hopefully the weather is kinder next weekend when we take on the Hermit Park Tigers at Neil French Oval.
