Swans on baller Ben Keep won the clubs Best &
Fairest Award by the barest of margins at the clubs vote count and awards night
at the Mad Cow Tavern on Saturday night.
Keep trailed eventual Runner Up Adam McDonald
by 3 votes with 1 round to count. With 9
votes availble it was anybody's count to win. Keep picked up 1 vote on the
first card read out to trail by 2, followed by a 2 vote on the second last card
to tie it all up with only 1 vote card to be read.
It was 2009 all over again but with different
players this time around. A 1 vote to McDonald saw him regain the lead only
for Keep to pick up a 2 to take the award.
Runner Up Adam McDonald polled well early to lead
the count for most of the evening. He polled 22 of his 37 votes in the first 7
rounds where as Keep finished the season with a bang polling 29 of his votes
after round 7 including 15 of a possible 18 votes in rounds 10 and 11.
Keep ads the Best & Fairest award to the
Darren Hoare Players Player award he picked up earlier to cap off a great
season.
Earlier in the evening Tyson McNeill took out the
Reserves top honour from Scot Beynon and Glen Bamford who tied for Runners Up.
Like Keep in the seniors McNeill also won the Players Player award to get the
double.
