The AFL Townsville Premiership may only be a week old but Curra Swans already have a point to prove.
The Swans are determined to put a meek first up showing behind them when they face defending premiers Hermit Park at Neil French Oval tomorrow.
Early season optimism at the Swans was shaken in a hammering from Thuringowa Bulldogs in round 1
"We have only got a point to prove to ourselves, we know we are a better side than we showed last week" Swans coach Peter Pyle said.
"We just have to go out and work our butts off. Our skills work last week just was not up to par, anything we tried did noyt come off."
"We have addressed a few things at training, with regard to our attitude and will to win the game."
The Swans face a tough task in bouncing back against a Tigers team smarting after a convincing loss to University Hawks in the Grand Final rematch. Pyle said the Swans definitely be more competitive tomorrow.
"Last week we had thirteen guys under 21, this week we have got a bit more experience in the side." he said.
"We are not going to be settled for a long time, it is a process of gelling together and seeing how we go.
"I definitely know we will be more competitive this week.
"We are quietly confident.
"You go into every game hoping to win, and we can win the game of footy.
"You have got to have that attitude every time you play, otherwise it is no use coming out of the change rooms."
The match starts at 2.30pm
