Round 3 St Pauls V Chelsea Heights
SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon Constructions
After idling for the opening 2 rounds, Billy slid the Doggy machine nicely into gear against the Heighters registering a 93 point victory. Doggies swingman Nick Gilbert was brilliant up forward (2 goals) and should get a massive dose of confidence to boost his obvious ability. Ridgeway proved too quick and elusive for his opponents and finished with 6 of the best to lead the LJ/Ridgeway medal by 3. The inclusion of premiership half backs Dawes & Blackwood gave us much needed run & carry and will be a massive boost this week against ladder leaders Dingley.
There is a building vibe at Dogland that is different from past years… get around it!!!

The boys continued their winning form with a 26 point victory. Eric the Eel was right at home in the slippery conditions and in reality plays the dual roles of ruck and midfield which means he finds plenty of the Sherrin. Debutant Sam Mercuri with the 66” inch chest was impressive with his general play and also finished with 2 goals to be instrumental in the win. Others to catch the eye were the two Travs, (Las Places and Knox) along with Harry the head-wobbler Pratt who showed plenty of dash. The defence did a great job in restricting the goals conceded but will have to be at their best this week against the undefeated Dingley boys
Under 19’s Vs Carrum Patterson Lakes – Sponsored by the Bentleigh RSL
The lasting impression from this match was our slick movement of the footy. Big Tyler Tim in the ruck gave our running brigade in Capt Carl, Braggers & Noodles first use of the footy and the link up and run of Fred, Vick and Weissy was sensational. I spoke to Rocket who does some part time astronomy, he claimed he had discovered a new star in the Samsung Galaxy by the name of Matty Brown… with a explosive turn of foot and a devastating left boot young Brown-Dog put in an exhilarating performance feeding our forwards Zach and Numbers who booted 4 & 3 goals respectively. An 8 goal final term set up the 83 point win. Great game boys…
Netballers
Our Div 1 team had a fantastic 41 - 18 point victory over Bentleigh and remains undefeated. Our Div 2 girls came up short going down 21 to 35 but are in 4th position with a 2-2 record.
