Round 4 St Pauls V Dingley
SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon Constructions
Any more days like last week (3 losses) and Dogland might need some help from the RSPCA. The boys are having some difficulty converting the good work that is being done further afield. T-Mac did a 1st rate job quelling his old foe Francis and Tim Blackwood was simply sensational across half back. Others who could hold their heads high were young Braggers on debut who did a fine run with job on Jackson Peet along with the old firm in Junior, A-Mac, Gilbo and Harley who all played well. The boys need to regroup as it is still early days and the next few weeks now become crucial to stay in touch with the competition leaders. It’s our huge Matty Rojahn day clash against Chelt at the Kennel and with both teams on 2 wins the stakes are high.

Another game in drizzling rain meant that scoring was at a premium. Every opportunity had to be taken and in a game where only 9 goals in total were scored for the entire match mistakes were crucial. The 10 point loss was no fault of Jack Kreymborg who rarely loses in a one on one contest. Levi and Pauly found some form and Chrissy Vail and Bobby battled extra hard to try and get the boys up. It’s another big challenge this week against ladder leaders Cheltenham.
Under 19’s Vs Carrum Patterson Lakes – Sponsored by the Bentleigh RSL
It was a very disappointing effort from our boys in terms of total team application. Dingley were far more disciplined and were able to convert that onto the scoreboard. On the positive side of the ledger, Carl Herb led from the front and continues his fantastic early season form and along with Freddy Jenkins were clearly our standouts. Others to perform well were Nick Bury, Tim Walsh, Tim Tyler, Numbers and young Sean Herbstreit on debut. The coach will be expecting a big improvement on that performance against Cheltenham at home
Netballers
Our Div 1 team had a loss against Heatherton 39 to 19 whilst our Div 2 girls came up short by 1 goal going down 17 to 18. Bad luck girls but keep at it. You have great numbers which
