The continued improvement of the senior group continued with a good win against last year’s runners up and for the 1st week no injuries. With Smithy, Mckenna to come back and some good performances by a few in the 2s the side will only be improved by the run. The win was good as we were behind early, regained the lead only to lose it in the last qtr the team rallied to come back and win the match. The 2s and 19s had a solid hit out but with a few underdone weren’t able to match it with their opponents. The weather was kind to us as the ground got a well earned drink after the game at least it got a drink those who didn’t it’s there loss.
Today it’s Greensborough on their ground that are always hard to beat at home. Hopefully we continue to improve and have another win.
Mick O’Neill (if selected in today’s game) will play his 300th Club Game. Affectionately known as Sick he has provided plenty of entertainment for us all on and off the field. A remarkable effort considering the serious back injury he suffered early in his career. Micko has been busy all week making his own banner.
The Best Player tickets winner was S.W.A.T. Shannon Watt. Of the 6 better players last week were players new to the club. Watt, Meese, Pece & Gannon.
Next week it’s the Doggies at home with Paddy Fitz & Mick playing again after the game so get along and enjoy the night.
