Thank God Greensborough wore green because with the lack of grass at least there was some green on the ground. The 2s undermanned again got the points and moved up a notch whilst the Under 19s were well beaten by boro with just the bare minimum. Hayden Meese kicked half our score and as he has been sponsored by a few senior players has become the highest paid Under 19s footballer in the history of the NFL
This week we take on the Tigers at Warringal Park in one of the toughest assignments but the boys are primed for the challenge, The season finishes with 2 home games v MacLeod & Lalor.
Last Thursday we were fortunate enough to have an education session run by the AFL with guest speakers Peter Daicos and Peter Gillson the night provided the players with a great insight into the dangers and pitfalls associated with all the decisions they will make in life. It was a great initiative and much appreciated by the club. We hope the boys heed their advice and we will have all our people around the place for many years to come.
FAST FACTS Last week there were 14 former junior players in our A Grade side, 24 former juniors have played A Grade this year, the average age of our A Grade team last week was 22.
Renovations. Stage 1 of the works at the club are due to start very shortly with improvements to the viewing area. Thanks to Darebin Council, Aneeta Windows and The Coterie Group for their support in getting this underway. Stages 2-137 will follow.
Friday Joker Raffle Dips & Crackers Bomber is doing a great job selling the tickets, Heather’s dips and Mario’s fermented meat. The Jackpot is close to 2 Grand and the draw is conducted at 7PM. Tickets are available all week.
Around The Traps Holden SS Utes have many features but I don’t think they float but they do corner well and sound nice but it did need a clean and we needed the kegs. I suggest everyone go for the parmas this week when I last saw the beef wellington it was all over the floor. Are running a Senior B&F First Four. Tickets are $50 for a $1,000 1st Prize with free drinks and finger food from 7-9PM at the club on 23rd September

West Preston Junior Football Club The Under 16s have gone straight into the Grand Final and the 11s, 13s, 14s & 15s are in the prelim this Sunday. 3 games at North Heid and the 13s are at Epping at 11am. Presentation Day will be held on Sunday August 22nd from 12 Noon starting with their AGM
