VALE: Judy Banbury passed away last Saturday after a long battle with illness. Judy was a Life Member of the Junior club and was President for 7 years 1979-85. Judy was at the helm when the club made the move from the PRJSFL to the then DVFL. All of Judy’s sons played with the club. The ladies who were involved in this era are still in regular contact. One of the big achievements in Judy’s time was moving the club canteen from a tent into a caravan. A remarkable lady ahead of her time in terms of involvement in football administration and will be sadly missed. Deepest sympathy to Buddy and the Banbury family.
After winning the 1st qtr and being in the hunt at half time we were blown away in the last half when we struggled to get our hands on the footy in the last half when the conditions got heavy. Anyway we worked hard to get the double chance and we take that into this Sunday’s game against Bundoora. The 2s kept rolling along with a come from behind victory and are going from strength to strength at the business end of the year
Saturday’s best player went to Tom O’Neill, Sundays Best was Shaun Gannon daylight 2nd.
Around The Traps Which swinger pushed poor old Tommy Groves over, father of the year who is expecting his 1st born any minute was seen drinking light in a bid to be responsible. Jake owes us a new telly after exploding the old one. Jye was seen handing over contraband to the leagues GM before last weeks game. Poor old RM was left out on the Gilbert for almost 7 days and was seen back not long after. .Join our community on the website please ensure you log on and keep up to speed or email; westprestonlakeside@bigpond.com
Legends Game Early in 2011 to mark nothing at all apart from a bit of social banter at the bar one week the Young Christian Workers of West Preston will take on the thugs from Reservoir Lakeside. To qualify to play you must have played with either club prior to the merger. Appointments have already been made with Milesy to do battle with Tex in the timekeepers box. Believe it or not Tony Eley has volunteered to clean the change rooms after the game again. Lunch will be on followed by a couple of ales. Jumpers will be available to be purchased by players. Enquiries should be directed to Laurie Tilley for West and Chris Miles for Lakies.

Juniors; Had their inaugural Presentation Dinner for the Under 16s & 17s at the Darebin RSL last Friday and it was a huge success with over 150 in attendance. It was good to see the young lads all dressed up and the girls who saved plenty on material all enjoy the night. Next year selection will be interesting with all the Under 16s a walk up start for senior selection. Poor Sam Tilley put a huge amount of work into the power point presentation only to put the last screen up first. Anyway everyone walked away with a prize.
