Another classic encounter at Bill Lawry Oval and in the end after controlling the match most of the day were lucky to come away with the points in the end or was it just a plan to give Brad something to talk about. Big Boy got the chocolates in the Best Player ticket even though he had 15 kicked on him. The 2s continue to push on. The 19s keep plugging away undermanned and Garrett stepped up to help out. Billy Roberton keeps adding another string to his bow taking on the timekeeping whilst still updating his facebook page which led to some lengthy quarters but it is special.
This week its Eltham coming of a loss and we must be on our game to avenge the defeat earlier in the year. Next week we’re home again to Greensborough in another great game of local footy in front of hopefully more big crowds.
Around The Traps Loaded up the work truck with Boags kegs and unfortunately got bogged but thankfully Polly’s AWD Subaru was there to pull it out. Is HardRock doing hard time breaking rocks. More renos are needed if Rocca & Presti continue to do bar shifts as it dosent leave much room. Nono made the Irish International Aussie Rules team to take on Jun’s Japanese. I don’t know how you go about supporting your team but bowling shoes are ugly and you should stay out of sleazy wine bars. The Dot girls did a great job and had more rotations than the seniors but continued to replace quality with quality. Sando has had Anthony out before training for goal kicking practice. Good effort by Partyboy to put on a dress to try and claim his mum’s prize last week. Pece was very critical of the PA work last Saturday. Steve & Des are nice lads and always pack the boss a parma for the walk home on Thursdays. After 3 attempts one finally got eaten, the first hit the deck outside the front porch, the 2nd ended up squashed in bed.
Major Draw was a huge success with great numbers attending and ticket sales through the roof. Well done to all the senior players for driving it and then working the bar. Sadly Keith Paisley won first prize and is intending to use his travel voucher to further his stay in Australia. Mr Tilley won 2nd Prize a years supply of warm milk and Danny Awad won the Eskander Award, For anyone interested the name of the 2 blokes in the band was Snake & Dragon.

Coterie Group is up and running again and at various levels so see Milesy, Polly or Mario for further details. The new look mens toilet should have well and truly taken shape and the odours gone and door reversed sorry girls. Hopefully when we return home in 2 weeks the soil will be turned out the back. So far the group has raised the best part of 50 grand which will all go towards building improvements and with the support of Darebin council we will see vastly improved facilities for both home and visiting clubs. Darebin Council announced its budget for this coming year and once again find ourselves on the receiving end of some more revenue for an upgrade to our ground lighting in 2012. The new multi purpose room has been pushed back to start in August.
