Last week we hosted Greensborough and in contrast to the previous week the sun was shining and the crowds returned back to the lake oval. The opening term proved pivotal in the end as we kicked with the aid of a handy breeze found ourselves trailing at the first break and found ourselves catching up for the rest of the day. Boro got away in the last qtr and we fought our way back but couldn’t get out of jail. The 2s match was a bit of a scrappy low scoring affair but we managed to turn the tables on our previous encounter. They did set a record in best player ticket sales and helped with the Auskick match. The 19s once again played the top side after the reshuffle and managed to improve the result from the last encounter. Best Player Tickets went to Matt Vasilevski (Denied). Thanks to the Boro for hanging around afterwards.
Today we travel down to the kennel who always make us feel welcome. The 19s play Eltham at Heidelberg. Next week were on the road to Bundoora. After this match its back to the club for T-Spoons Rumspringa, not sure why its called this but it will involve some food and a bit of a chat.
Around The Traps Salty says he is undeflatable but Ange believes in Nostradami but no one could have forseen a father of a coach who has coached both clubs doing battle today mistaking the deep heat ala paul storey style for the colgate, VB shares would have risen that night or morning this follows that famous rant about having 2 glasses of water before going to bed, if I could fit 2 more glasses i’d have 2 more stubbies.

Juniors With 3 rounds to go they are getting to the pointy end of the season with several teams set to be part of the finals action including the 17s enjoying their last year of junior football. We look forward to seeing them be part of the senior club next year. A great day was had last week with the auskickers and under 9s enjoying festivities at the senior match. Well done to all families on a great day.
Coterie Group is up and running again and at various levels so see Milesy, Polly or Mario for further details. So far the group has raised the best part of 50 grand which will all go towards building improvements and with the support of Darebin council we will see vastly improved facilities for both home and visiting clubs. Darebin Council announced its budget for this coming year and once again find ourselves on the receiving end of some more revenue for an upgrade to our ground lighting in 2012. The new multi purpose room has been pushed back to start in August.
