A very important win in trying conditions to get a result our way at a critical stage of the year. A great performance from a little bloke who looks to have been well mentored, Sick had a bit of fun up forward and then decided to try his hand in the ruck. Big Florence must have thought a seagull got him when Luke bought him to the ground. The 2s had a good win and it seems Larks was wired up to give the coach some tips. Homicide and Junkyard showed that they are looking for a later start. The 19s kept rolling along even without Milesy, good to see the Muppet get a touch.
This week we take on the Tigers with Ali back from the G, Robbo from his Muay Thai contest o/s, and maybe a few more. Still too many on the sidelines, Spewy and Davies are still some weeks away. We haven’t seen our best out on the paddock yet but with the determination of those taking the field we will continue to improve that will keep the selectors on the hop.
Players Review is next Saturday night May 9th after the Thomastown game from 7.30pm at the rooms. Please book your acts with Teaspoon or the bugler.
Memberships are available from Dooga or Kate today and if you had to pay to get in I hope the tigers appreciate your cash but it’s more important to be member of our club so we directly benefit. Start from $60 Adults Pens $30, Family $90 etc.
Around The Traps The highlight of the day was clearly watching Sav putting the goal post pads out and his brother taping the game, both complained it was cold and miserable. Harden up Boys. Once again the microphone got the better of some people and it may be time for the heart and soul to step up if he’s not too tired from running water. What a great weekend starting on Friday with our first AUSKICK session 68 yougins signed up followed by the Under 9s blockbuster, the 3 wins on Saturday and some strong performances by the juniors on Sunday. All we need now is Monday Night Football. Thanks to Fred for collecting our jumpers and the gorilla invoice. You may notice this week that the rooms have a new look with a new rug and some nice new resting poles. Snip Rodgers got upset that he was refused service but didn’t realize the last 15 drinks he bought were still sitting on the table. The Great Coolwater has finished his Duties after Round 2 and the much awaited Ms West Preston will be announced shortly or is he just looking for some cheap sunscreen.
