Got the points in the end whilst trying to throw the game away. The Best Player Ticket went to “Gobbledoc” Damian Smith. The reserves had a big win with the help of a young boy fresh of the plane and the 19s went down.
This week we're finally back at home against Mont and again at home next week against Thomastown.
Today we welcome all the Junior Sponsors, Volunteers & Life Members down for their Luncheon we hope they all enjoy the day.
Cash Draw was a huge success last week with a sell-out crowd in attendance all on their best behaviour. Special thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, Flynny, Tex, Frank and Jedd on the balls, the lovely dot girls Marnie, Emma & Adele. Turbo & Kate for organising the bar staff and for all the senior players for helping out behind the bar. A great effort all around even though it got a bit messy. Gabriel Kairouz got the big money an Under 15 parent enjoying his first year at the club, Ryan Ewing got the Show and Junior picked up the place. Plenty of love in the air and what a friendly place we live in, young lass left her bag on the seat outside overnight and was still there in the morning. Must have been scared of Major Wolfgang Hochstetter from the Gestapo who escorted a few members off the base.
The next function is the Mystery Night in 2 weeks after the North Heidelberg game.
Around The Traps. Jimmy Baggio has gone missing today as he needs to get his tax return in; I wonder how the receipts from across the road will be assessed. Bev’s daughter was not happy at not being offered a lift to the football by any of her family but Teaspoon had to work all day he finished at 12.30pm which put him off his tucker Monday night, I wonder where he went, ask him Some players have a great attitude to their sport it was great to see one of ours get of the plane early in the morning turn up and just play football as long as he didn’t push anyone out of a game, even though I did see Adam throwing magnets everywhere trying to fit him.
Juniors are heading into the finals with 3 weeks remaining and the majority of the teams pushing on for some finals action. Don’t forget their end of season raffle tickets are on sale now to be drawn after the last home and away game Sunday August 2nd.
Lakeside Netballers got the points last Friday against Whittlesea and now sit 3rd on the ladder. With 3 rounds remaining we hope they can stay up there and make the finals in their first year.
