U10 White v Penrith Swans
The Mountain Men were still rubbing the fog out of their eyes as they trundled down the hill to face the Penrith Swans for the season opener and it wasn’t till the second stanza did the boys hit their straps and turned on some scintillating footy. Sensational debuts from Owen and Ethan Powell, with Owen showing awesome skills in and around the ruck, “The Superboot” Conner McGannon picked up exactly where he finished off last year bagging 3 impressive goals while Brandan Peary showed some real tenacity in defence. Job well done lads, see you all Wednesday for training.
U/10 Blues
Our first game of the year! Coach and players still a bit rusty. But as the game went on, the boys got better. Special mention to new players Sam & Cameron who never stopped trying . Zac & Daniel never stopped chasing leather, Mali & Zavier were good in defence whilst Angus & man of the match Rhys kicked some nice goals.

BMK vs Campbelltown Swans
Despite being beaten by a well-drilled Swans team, the Kangaroos were far from disgraced. All the boys showed great determination and commitment and kept trying to the final whistle. This team had quite a few boys playing their first game of AFL, and they will only get better as they develop a greater understanding of field position. Great skills were displayed by Miles Bridgland and Harrison Wilkman-Dean in the midfield, Wilson Dowling did a fantastic job nullifying his opponent when moved to the back line, and Ben Fry provided a steadying influence late in the game. Congratulations to Gus Chen for kicking his first goal!

Our team had a convincing start to the season when they demolished the Lions, who to be fair played with 3 Under 13 players in their squad. Our midfield ably led by Pat De La Mare ruckman won most of the centre clearances, and shared the ball accurately and at pace. Pat was not able to be matched up on by the opposition and centred the ball for our forwards unselfishly and provided a link from defence. Our forward line led by Sam West at full-forward and captain Tom Moore at CHF led from the front. Our on ballers, particularly Connor Nakkan, were fit and distributed the ball well. Our defence led by previous captain Peter Frith was simply miserly and brilliant. I don't think Peter made a mistake all day! Special mention to former Lion Matthew McAlpine who matched up against his old team very competitively for the first 5 minutes but unfortunately sustained a crushing bruise to his tricep muscle and was unable to resume play. Fellow coach Rob and myself will see you at training during the holidays at THP, lets hope we can continue the season in this form. Cheers, Mat Bagley (Check photos in Photo Gallery)

BMK v Campbelltown Swans. The players had a very warm day to start their first round against the Swans. Despite the heat, all players gave 110% effort to the game. The Swans were very strong, playing well on all fronts, but despite having a strong lead in all four quarters, the BMK boys did not stop contesting and showed great defence and some super marks. Lachlan Leaf was not about to be walked over and played a brilliant gme to win "Man of the Match". Our new players had a tough game to start with and put in brilliant efforts that they should be proud of! Well done boys and well done to the coaches, Glen and Brian for all their hard work and Nicci in managaing.

U/16 v Campbelltown Swans: It was a warm day at Clarke Oval and being our first game together, the team took some time to get the ball moving freely. At the end of the first quarter there was only a goal in it and the players were feeling the heat. Jack Bragg was a focal point up forward and a steady contributor all day. Though more than matched in the air, the Roos battled hard at ground level. At the main break the Roos were up by 4 points (4-6 to 3-8) but knew what needed to be done to win the game and they emphatically powered home in the second half. In the final two quarters the Roos kicked 7-9 to 2-2, to take the win. Jacob Field got the ball going from the centre and the classy Aidan Quicke was productive whether playing forward or in defence. Jack Pople and Jack Moore held a stingy defence together. It was a defence that grew in composure and stature. Jake Gililand was busy. All players put in a fantastic effort. Though it will take some time to build up a strong fitness base, each and every player showed 100% for the team effort. You know the individuals are working for the team when you see players putting their hand up for a rest when they are worn out. Consistent changes kept our game plan fresh. Well done Roos!
