U/10 Whites vs U/10 Blues
The most anticipated clash of the year. Team mate vs. team mate, mano e mano, and the hallowed turf of Tom Hunter Park was at its most picturesque to host this game skill and strength. From the first centre throw The Mountain Men fought hammer and tong for each possession, each hand pass and each kick, showing both class and determination that would have looked right at home in the centre of the MCG. As per usual the “Bulldog” was absolutely unstoppable in the centre, clearing the ruck and pushing the ball forward, ably supported by his brother Ethan and “The Sensei” who showed what a few slaps in the face just before kick off can do, with The Mountain Men going into first quarter oranges right in the mix to cause the biggest upset of the year over their more fancied rivals in blue. The second stanza was much the same as the first with little separating the two teams apart, sensational ball running on the wings by “Big Reg” Dixon kept the blues at bay and the scoreboard tight and going into halftime it was anybodies contest. A major shuffle in the zones at Half time saw The Mountain Men hit the deck running in the third, Lior Hadari showing all the skills with ball in hand to open up The Mountain Men’s account aided by partner in crime Brandon “Mungo” Peary, the two proving hard to contain in the front third. Solid performances from Superboot McGannon and Alex Wydmuch with some handy disposals by “The Oz Man” Atkins and The Mountain Men wrapped up another great performance. The near capacity crowd at THP bellowed for more as The Men made their way from the field, saluting their massive band of supporters. Once again boys a fantastic game and the improvements are massive. Rest up and see you all at training on Wednesday.
U/10 Blues vs Whites
The Blues put together another strong performance with goals to Mali, Cameron, Kienan, Blake, Zac, Jordan, Rhys & Harley. Angus, Daniel and Tyler were very effective at ballups, while Sam, who played half a game with the Whites, worked hard in defence. Man of the match was Mali.
U/12-3 vs. Emu Plains/Glenmore Park
A Blustery day at Dukes Oval and another good win for this team. POM Ben Lambert was fantastic in defence, while Rueben Ford, Tim Griffiths, Riley Williams and Scott Lambert all played strong games. In a great show of sportsmanship, eight Kangaroos played a quarter each for the lions which saw Callum Jackson and Harry Morgan kicking goals for the opposition. BMK 9-15-69 EP/GP 2-1-13
U/14 Div 3 vs Hills Lions
A tough day in the wind for the boys against the Hills Lions. Despite giving strong performances, the links were not forming so quickly to get the ball up the field and through the posts. Hills boys came home strong winning 88 -17 BMK. Man of the match to Harry!
U/16 Vs Camden
Not only was it a tough day competing with the wind, but the ladder leaders Camden came out firing. The Roos learnt a lot playing a much stronger side, attack the ball and run in packs will get the goals on the board. Final: BMK 3-5-23 Camden 17-26-128.
