U/10 Blues vs St Clair
The Blues best effort yet this year. A dominating performance across the ground.Blake and Jordan did some nice work, getting the ball into the forward line. At ballups Rhys and Tyler were forever getting the ball moving our way. Kienan and Zac kept the ball heading out of defence, while Daniel, Xavier and Harley played key roles in setting up play across the zones. Many goals by many players with multiples by Mali, Kienan and Zac. Man of the match was Angus with 5 goals and a dominating role in the centre and some timely marks at fullback.
U/10 White v Hill Lions
Photo Day, and who would have thought that our fame had reached so far world wide as the one and only Kenny Rogers took time out of his touring schedule to get some quality snaps of The Mountain Men looking their finest! Good Job Kenny, good to see ya !
With the early morning’s fun and games finished, The Mountain Men switched on for their big showdown with the Hills Lions in downtown “Parrawhatsamatta”. An ever increasing injury toll and other team commitments saw The Mountain Men with out 4 of their most potent attacking weapons for the big clash, but not wanting to let down the big crowd that attended, The Mountain turned in another quality performance. Although, in true Saturday morning style, The Mountain Men let the Lions get the jump scoring a number of uncontested goal to go into first qtr oranges with a big opening lead and it was not till late in the second qtr when “Mungo” Peary took the game by the scruff of the neck putting on a couple of quick majors to send The Mountain Men into half time right in the thick of things. The Men hit the deck running in the third with Alex Wydmuch putting on what could be classed as goal of the year, putting the Sherrin through the big sticks after some scintillating play from deep in defence, The Men moved the ball with precision, Alex topping it off with a great pick up and kick with the huge crowd going wild in the background. Late in the qtr squandered chances meant our defence had to step up. Smooth and disciplined skills from “Sensei” Glasson, boosted by Dad’s arrival, kept the Lions at bay and the back third solid with some very good deliveries into the ruck area. “Crackers” Keenan’s reputation of being the toughest ruck man in the west, made him a target for the opposition, fighting off a heap of niggle before copping a finger to the eye putting him on the sideline temporarily in turn keeping The Mountain Men on their heels for the remainder of the qtr. The final qtr was much the same as the third, with the Mountain Men having to dig deep and hold the Lions out. Not being able to put the finishing touches on some fantastic centre play by “The Bulldog” and “The Rock Atkins” proved costly for The Men as they could not claw back the early start from the Lions. Great performances from Ethan Powell, “Oz Man” Atkins and “Big Reg” Dixon and The Mountain Men once again showed that they are not far away from their best with another solid performance. Good job lads should be very proud of yourselves. See you at training.
U14 Div 3 vs Quakers Hill Bombers
First win for the BMK’s this season! All players put in 110%, worked as a TEAM and never looked like losing. They well deserved this win and this was in wet conditions. Man of the match went to Peter Doyle and achievement award to Aiden Wass. Great play by Jacob and Zac in defence and also from our new player to the team, Harrison! BMK 59 - Bombers 12.
