Things are a little more positive on the COVID front since our last updated midway through October. Hopefully we receive some further good news this Sunday regarding the lifting of more restrictions.
Football Update
Due to difficulty around interviewing and making decisions in the time of COVID lockdown, the club has extended the applications for our Under 19 Boys football coach for 2021. These close next Wednesday 25th November. Applications must be sent via email to enquiries@meltonfnc.com.au
We have been progressively announcing our re-signings via Facebook and pleased that the majority of players have recommitted for 2021. On the recruiting front, Kevin Klix is the first new face we announced for next season. Kevin now lives in Melton and crosses to us after an aborted start with East Keilor this year due to COVID. Previously he had a long stint at Deer Park and we are sure he will bring a bit of that success with him to MacPherson Park. Those who have seen Kevin play know how he can impact a game, and we think he will be valuable for us both up forward and in the midfield. Youngster Lachlan Phillips has also crossed from Melton Central. Lachlan is 19 years of age and well known to all the boys at the club and many people around Melton. We look forward to seeing him in the maroon jumper for the first time in 2021. Only the one confirmed departure - Shaun Campbell is moving to Parkside in the WRFL. We wish him well and thank him for spending a season (and committing for a second) with the Bloods.
Annual General Meeting (*PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE*)
The AGM is scheduled for Wednesday 9th December at MacPherson Park at 7.30pm (outdoor meeting). Further details will be updated in the week of the meeting via our website, confirming the location based on the latest State Government update on restrictions. If the club is unable to conduct the meeting in person, then it will be held online via Zoom.
MacPherson Park Redevelopment
We are hoping to shortly receive a video of the indoor areas of the new clubrooms and we look forward to sharing that on social media with our members when it becomes available.
People's Choice Community Raffle
The Melton Bloods have signed up for the People's Choice community lottery. $2 a ticket, you can buy 1 or 100 with all money purchased via our login page being returned to the club. Christmas Draw
Our draw is currently underway. Two draws down, three to go. Bruce Clark, long time author of Bloods Banter who is now enjoying an ocean lifestyle, has managed to pick up $1,000 in both the previous lockdown draw and again last Saturday. Well done Bruce! Good luck to the remaining ticketholders in the next three weeks and thanks for your support of the Bloods.
Horse Tipping Competition
This Saturday is Ballarat Cup Day, and considering it's a local meeting of sorts given we are in the Ballarat FNL why not jump into the Horse Tipping Competition this weekend! Entry is $20, you tip one horse in each race, the value of your horses win and place dividends are added up and the person with the highest return at the end of the day wins the prize.
There's a prize for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a bottle of red for whoever finishes last.
Join our Facebook Group called 'Melton Bloods Punting Competition' where you can find out more information, or contact Hursty or Jacko if you have any questions.
Sponsors
Nabby is always happy to hear from potential partners, so if you’d like to join the Bloods as a sponsor please give Nabby a call or email the club.
We have some amazing partners who have supported us through 2020. It has been a challenging year for local businesses, so please support them during these tough times, so they are there to support our club in the future. A full list of Melton FNC sponsors can be seen on our website.
Social Media
We're aiming to add regular content to our Facebook page. If you haven't 'liked' us on Facebook yet, please do so. As restrictions ease, we'll get some more content prepared for the next few months to get through the summer.
That's all for this edition of Bloods Banter - please stay safe and we look forward to all being back together soon!
GO BLOODS!!!
