SWAN Hill Kerang (SHK) gave its Bendigo opponent a Master Class in super-rules footy on Sunday.
The local boys celebrated a successful day on and off the field downing their bogey team Bendigo by two points, with seven new players in the ranks.
"We had a good response from the locals… and a reasonable crowd on the day," SHK Swan Hill organiser Brenton Hogan said.
"The standard was pretty good throughout the day."
Among the new players to impress on the day were on-baller James King, Scott Gladman, forward Brendan Angus, centre Joe O'Reilly and ruckman Paul Walsh, Hogan said.
"We regarded the day as a success and we have a few interested players for the next game at Castlemaine," he said.
Hogan said SHK was now looking at three games in Swan Hill next year, with two or three of the nine total games to be played at Wandella. And after beating Bendigo — a bogey team in past years — Hogan said the Masters team's mood was upbeat.
