1966 First Semi
Dunolly 8- 15- 63 def Carisbrook 5- 5- 35
Dunolly finished the match with only 17 men after they had lost R. Raselli and G. Watts in the 3rd quarter. In the last quarter Vin Grant collided with Ken Galloway and was taken off the ground with concussion and then to hospital. Dunolly won the game because of its all round strength and the fact that it played with a greater will to win.
½ time Dunolly 3 . 6 . 24 Carisbrook 1 . 0 . 6
During the second half heavy rain fell and the conditions became very difficult. Lacey appeared to inspire Dunolly by his presence on the field when he replaced Raselli. He had a part in the next 2 goals for Dunolly.

The last quarter was just a slog but Dunolly won by 28 points.

1st Quarter: Dunolly was soon on the offensive as Peart marked and goaled, but good play by Heenan was unrewarded when Lacey dropped the mark. Park attacked with determination and they kicked some good goal and just before quarter time Goodchild and Morse goaled for Park.
2nd Quarter Lacey snapped a great goal and then shortly after he gained a free to kick the only 2 goals for Dunolly in the term.
3rd Quarter An incident behind play lead to Park getting a goal to Shiel and then Goodchild kicked another. Lacey ran through the Park defence to kick a great goal and then Beasy got another.
4th Quarter Beasy goaled, Lacey soccered a goal off the ground, Birthisel and Heenan goaled shortly after but it was too late.

Early in the game Treble was dominating in the ruck and the Dunolly midfield did well. Heenan and Spiker were good in defence. However, when the high marking Palmer took over Rovers just dominated.
Kevin Cain (D) had a great battle with Geoff Thitcher but he didn’t receive much support.
