CLUB HISTORY
The Club and League was formed in 1970, with the Rosebud juniors joining the League in 1972. We started off with two sides – U10s & U12s, with the U12s winning the Club’s first Premiership in their first year. As at 1973 The Rosebud Juniors chose to wear the same jumpers as the Rosebud Seniors.
In 1974 we introduced the U14s to the club and in 1976 we were the first Club to have all three sides in the Grand Final.
By 1980 the Rosebud Junior Football Club had four sides participating in the Mornington Peninsula Football League. We haven’t looked back since. In 2003, Eastbourne Auskick was invited to train on Olympic Park Oval by Rob Nichols, as they were looking for a new ground thus changing their name to Olympic Park Auskick in 2005. In 2011, we are ten sides strong consisting of 242 registered players, as well as the auskick clinic consisting of 90 players.
Rosebud Junior Football Club continues to go from strength to strength. In 2010 we had three sides competing in Grand Finals with our U13s Navy Division becoming Premiers. In 2011 the U14s went on to win the premiership in the Navy Division. This particular side has played in every grand final since their under 11 day winning 2 so far. Rosebud Junior Football Club are now the proud owners of 28 Premiership Cups.
In 2012 we have 12 sides with 3 of these sides in under 10s. This is a great reflection on the dedicated work all past and present committees, coaches, managers and helping parents have put towards the club and will see the club strong for many years to come.
