A great day’s footy with the Bay winning 3 out the 4 games for the day. Well done! Great to see so many back for tea later on and then hang around for the band. Good time had by all. Players fund for their footy trip has been topping up this week including penalising the President for his mug in the budget! Bit rough! Seems reasonable that Frenchy got pinged twice though (one for his daughter). Let’s keep up the winning form this week against Kalangadoo. Go Bay!
Junior Colts – Another great game from the boys against Glencoe. They played a solid four quarters and ran out easy winners. The ball movement and attack on the footy has improved dramatically since the first week. Tom Sullivan led from the front again with dominant performance all over the ground. Brother Tim was excellent in the ruck and up forward. Riley Chant got his hand on it and kicked 5. Jordan Stark attacked the footy and had plenty of it, along with Tom Zeitz and Blair Cutting who were lively up forward. Good luck this week.
Senior Colts – After a poor start last week the boys responded really well to the criticism they received. Playing a far bigger and older opponent, our boys exerted excellent physical pressure. Our ability to retain the footy and work the spaces on the oval was fantastic. Our work rate and attitude continued throughout the match which saw a respectable scoreboard at the end of the day given we had five players out. Holding Glencoe goalless in the last quarter when they had the wind typified our endeavour. Let’s hope we maintain the same approach with a tough game coming up against Kalangadoo.
B Grade – Great team effort to break through for our first win of the season and against last year’s Premiers was even better! Thanks to “Dad’s Army”, coming off the bench with about 600 years experience! Let’s get out to training and keep the momentum going. GO BAY 2010!!
A Grade – Another good week for the boys with a great home win against Glencoe. With a couple of injuries coming into the game, we knew we were never going to have it all our own way but to their credit, the lads stuck to the game plan and it paid off in the end. Best player for the day went to big “Woolley”, (Shannon Smith) who just seemed to make every contest and get the ball going our way. Second best was “Dexel” (Steven Noble) and like a few of the other boys, just seems to get better every week. Taking out third best was “Big Sharma” (Will MacDonald) WHO JUST SEEMS TO MARK EVERYTHING THAT GOES NEAR HIM. Lots of confidence is to be gained from wins like this and shows true character of sides and players. With Kalangadoo this weekend, it should prove to be another good game!
