A lot has happened in three weeks. I’m sure like all of you it’s been weird not being at the footy but hopefully we’re all back hungrier than ever to play great footy and win tough games! Flight night was a great social night – great fun and many sore heads I’m sure! Last Man Standing, last Saturday was also a fantastic success. A sincere thank you to ALL those who were involved, in either event, in any way be it organiser, worker, sponsor or a donator of meat. It was good to see everyone together enjoying the weather and great food. Go the Bay!!
Junior Colts- It was a nice day for footy at the Bay. We had to give Nangas 4 of our players due to low numbers but it was good for the boys to get a kick against not too bad opposition. Thanks to Tom Sullivan, Riley Chant, Wade Chant, Liam and Ned Wilke for pulling on the oppositions jumpers and all played well. The younger smaller players got a bit more of a bigger role but the way they can move the football around the ground is good to watch. That’s the end of the first round, let’s keep it up. Go Demons
Senior Colts- Thanks to Tom Sullivan, Riley Chant, Nathan Cawthorne and Jordan Stark (four junior colts) to go across to Nangas and give us the opportunity for a game. In a one-sided contest, it was good to see the boys share the footy around and play unselfish football. Players were rotated through different positions with everyone contributing. Just a quick get well note from all the players to Zack Williams, the assistent coach who is recovering from his recent ambulance trip from Port MacDonnell to Mount Gambier hospital with a dislocated little finger! Well done to all the juniors playing interleague on your selection. In the Under 17’s Johnny McBain was named as one of the best and received a trophy.
B Grade- Another good win, 6 on the trot. Two weeks off to rest up then a solid second half of the season. Only two teams left to beat boys. Keep out on the track Tuesdays and Thursdays even though we have the two weeks off, let’s keep this roll going. Go Bay 2010
A Grade – Another good week for the boys with a good win against Nangwarry. We were slow to get going but when we run and worked to each other the result showed on the scoreboard. Top of the ladder at the half way mark is an excellent result but a lot of hard work to come. Again, another great game by Dexel (Steven Noble). He has had a terrific month. Also Jodie Murdoch on his wing gathered plenty of quality possessions, Benny O’Dine had a tough game as always, Tobei Kennett, also best game for the club and Will MacDonald gave us first hand on the footy all day. Let’s enjoy the weeks off and after ourselves.
