Under 19s Coach's Report
With a huge victory in Round One we knew that Montrose would come to Walker Park full of confidence having had 40 scoring shots to 6 the week before. So for us our focus was to bring the heat from the get go and make a fast start, as we knew the Demons would have had a fairly easy run the week prior. To our lads credit they executed perfectly having had 13 tackles in Q1, our only let down was the fact that in hitting the score board 6 times we had kicked an inaccurate 2 goals 4. Whilst continuing to focus on our pressure, the want to be more composed with ball in hand and increase our efficiency became the priority for the remainder of the game. At various times during Saturday's game we were challenged and to the boys credit they were able to respond each time. As coaches we see small positive steps towards where we want to go, and are impressed in the selfless manner that the boys adapt to the various roles they are requested to play. Our next challenge is to deliver consistently across all 4 quarters of a game. Great to see the old timers from the 3 peat of 79 / 80 / 81 around on the weekend and well done to the club for friday night and backing up again on Saturday ....

Reserves Coach's Report
Super day for the Club to get 3 wins, our boys were again very good with another 4 qtr performance. From the 1st qtr start with 2 quick goals we dominated possession however to Montrose credit they showed that we couldn’t drop off in our pressure. After halftime we kicked away convincingly, our structure was outstanding and the boys just were hungry for the contest till the final siren. Even contributors across the ground is the
most pleasing, early wins are gold as we head to Upper Gully this week to try and get our third, thanks to all our supporters we love ya!

Senior Coachs Report
This week we hosted Montrose who had dropped down from premier division and had started the season with a strong win against Bayswater, so we knew it would be a tough challenge. We had a focus to be strong defensively and bring a high level of pressure, to the boys credit we were able to do that right throughout the day as we were able to force Montrose into a number of turnovers which we were able to capitalize on. We had a really even contribution right across the board making it hard to highlight any players but Dylan Brooks was outstanding down back holding his opponent who kicked 7 goals the previous week scoreless and Riley Nicholas was also a rock down back. The on ballers lead by Jesse Cherry were also very good and Lou Marro and Jackson Hallo were dangerous all day up forward. To come away with a 49 point win was very pleasing and just reward for the effort we put in on the day.
Fantastic to see The premiership players of 79 / 80 / 81 down at the game, it’s always great to get the past players back at the club and we appreciate their ongoing support. Also thanks to all the supporters who came along to help us get across the line, I would also like to make special mention of our little mate Jax from Frontline Locksmiths for helping with the aftermatch awards, You put me and Gav both to shame .
Looking forward to seeing you all out at Upper Gully NEXT WEEK …..
