The Tiger train rolled up the mountain to South Belgrave this week and after a week of wet weather the boys weren’t too sure what to expect ground wise. Pleasantly to our surprize on a near perfect winters days under blue skies and sun shine the ground wasn’t in too bad a nick. The under 19s got the ball rolling with a good win and looked a lot sharper this week even with a few of their regulars out, although we did see the unusual occurrence of the Unsung heroes of the game - The boundary umpires both end up on the same side of the ground for a period of time during the 3rd quarter - surely this is a fine for Bluey Mckeown’s incompetence???? The reserves had to dig deep to get the job done and lucky for us the last kick of the day was a Mitcham goal as we won by 3 points. The seniors suffered their first defeat of the season when they were out worked / out played by a committed South Belgrave outfit and it was a stark reminder that you need to bring your best every week. A BIG thank you to the fine folk of South Belgrave for their hospitality and good luck for the remainder of the season.
Next week we welcome the Silvan cats to Walker park where nothing less than 3 wins will suffice PLUS we also welcome the ladies of Mitcham to the annual Mitcham football netball club ladies luncheon where the girls will let their hair down as they enjoy some fine wine and food with entertainment supplied by SuperGirly. At just $40.00 entry you will enjoy a complementary glass of champagne on arrival followed by lunch with SuperGirly performing live. THERE ARE still limited tickets available so please contact Rachael Maddox 0432 385 665 to get in on the action. Then later that night the players have their Frat Party which is always a hoot. Under 19s Coaches Report
Was great too see our boys back playing with some confidence against Sth Belgrave on the weekend. It was one of our better games structurally and quite an even performance all over the ground. Mick Downes was terrific on their most dangerous forward cutting him right out of the game while Nathan George, Sammy Howell and Adam Glanville proved to be a dangerous combination up forward. The work rate of our on ball brigade was much improved as a whole but it was Luke McKeown who returned to form with an impressive performance over four quarters. We could find positives for each player individually but it was the team performance that impressed the coaching staff as the boys ran out winners by 11 goals. Some huge games coming up for us over the next four weeks. A top five finish is now almost certain but our position in the top five will be determined by the next four results. Again we thank our parents and supporters for turning up to yet another away game! We look forward to playing at home over the next two weeks

Reserves Coaches Report
Travelling up the hills to play a side that was only one game behind us it was an eight pointer for them and an opportunity for us remain up the top of the ladder. They came out and were clearly more intense than us and were playing tough footy, we were down at qtr time due to their pressure and cleaner possession. This continued on the 2nd and 3rd also as our boys were not playing how we had and I could see our confidence levels being tested. At 3 qtr time we were 21 points down so even though they were on top it wasn't too far away if we could change the pressure tables around. I said to the group that the first clearance was crucial and it was with us getting this and kicking the goal, we then got the next take away and all of sudden our pressure was worrying them and we were clearly on top. Forward entry one after another as we peppered the sticks to kick 4 goals 5 in the last, with the final goal coming with a mark 35 out with Stevo, he duly kicked it through, the ball was bounced and the siren went to win by 2 points, amazing effort! Our best this week was Emmo, Beags and Whitchy who were all terrific for the 4 qtrs. Yes we stole it no doubt as for three quarters they were the better side, but to our credit we never gave up, we spoke after the game about the fact we can't play just a qtr so we have plenty to work on this week at training. Thank you to all our supporters who were there on Saturday the boys and I very much appreciate it.

Senior Coaches Report
We travelled out to Belgrave Sth this week for what is always a tough assignment, we knew we would be facing a desperate side as they needed to win to hold their place in the 5. In the first quarter they came out full of fire with their attack on the ball and the man and we failed to combat this and were lucky to only be down by 22 points. Our 2nd quarter was much better and we got back to playing our brand of footy, we tightened up around the stoppages and used the ball much better to give our forwards a chance and went in at half time with a 4 point lead. In the third quarter our pressure dropped off and we wasted chances in front of goal, we were also undisciplined giving away 2 off the ball free kicks which resulted in goals, this meant we went to the three quarter time break with a 4 goal deficit. Unfortunately we weren't able to get ourselves back in the game conceding the first 3 goals of the quarter and ended up going down by 40 points. We have plenty of areas we need to address at training throughout the week and I'm sure you will see an immediate response from the group. Thanks to all the supporters who made the trek out to Belgrave, we look forward to seeing you all at our first home game for 3 weeks next week
