In the Reserves new player Nick Coad took out the Aqualink Café Player of the Day. Nick is not sponsored at this point so the sponsors prize jackpots to $75 this week!
Bernard Tanners Presidents Award went to Terri Miriklis, who is doing very well since moving from defence into an on-ball roll. Terri’s sponsor, Advance Auto Garage owned by Chris Day who was at the game but wasn’t at the post-match presentation so he missed out on $25 – this jackpots this week to $50.
This week we welcome Nunawading in the Seniors and Reserves, and Forest Hill Eagles in the 19’s. We know Nunawading have had a tough season but it hasn't been as tough as the one Andrew White - Surrey Parks very own BBQ Chef - is having as he (and his band of helpers) have been churning through the burgers and beers on a Saturday afternoon…but we know Nunawading will be desperate to make a statement this week and we will be ready for them. We need a solid victory to keep us in touch with the top four so will be looking for a four-quarter effort across all grades.
We welcome back Vice Captain Chris Dishot into the Senior team and are very pleased to see Riley Tempany into the Twos for the first time this year, and it’s also great to see Zach Tempany and Kane Hendon returning from injury, also via the two’s.
We also welcome Past Players from our founding clubs Surrey Hills and East Camberwell as well as Surrey Park. We are looking forward to catching up with familiar and not-so familiar faces today and to hear the stories from days gone by. We are proud of our long and diverse history and we recognize the impact our Past Players have on the club.
If you haven’t scored a membership yet, they are still available and can be purchased at the downstairs bar today.
Thanks to all our sponsors and particularly Harp of Erin Hotel in Kew – The Harp is a great place for a drink or meal and if you use your loyalty card a percentage of your purchases come back to the club!
