Well done to Josh Hughes who kicked 15 goals and Michael Paolini who chipped in with 7. Ryan Kennedy’s run of half back and Bede Briscombe’s marking across the ground were two of many highlights across the day, as was Senior Coach Scott Hamill’s decision to blood two of the under 19 players (who were having the bye) into the seniors with Paul Collopy kicking 4 gaols and Ozzy Anderson playing well across the day.
The Two’s also had a good win also that keeps their late season momentum going. Paul Young kicked 8 and Ben Field 3 goals. Thanks to Nunawading for their hospitality off field and full credit to the players across both senior and reserve teams who had a red hot crack and never gave up.
This week we host Eastern Lions at home in what shapes as the biggest game on and off the field at Surrey Park this year as we host the annual Ladies Lunch, which is a sell-out. Thanks go to the organising committee led by Julie Toomey, Jacinta Mulholland and Tammy Currie. We are expecting a bumper crowd to be at the ground to support the boys as they work towards ending the 11 year finals drought…so arrive early to get a good spot!
We welcome back into the side Graeme Johns, Ben Myers, Chris Allen and Zach Tempany all fantastic additions as we push towards possible finals action.
So this is a ‘must win’ game so we need your support Panther Fans!!
The final major function during the Home & Away series will be the Round 18 Presidents Lunch at Surrey Park. Tickets are strictly limited so see Bernard Tanner if you would like to attend.
We are also pleased to advise you that the SPFC Presentation Night is set for Friday September 9th, so please put the date aside with more details to follow shortly.
