This week they take on Whitehorse/South Croydon in the second semi-final at Mitcham Reserve, 10.00am Saturday morning. The winner progresses straight through to the grand final in two weeks’ time. Congratulations to those selected, you’ve done the job all year so let’s keep the momentum going!
The reserves last week were also victorious over bottom-placed Nunawading. In a dour encounter, we won 7.14 to 3.10. Mick Jones kicked a couple and once again Callum Ternes was named our best.
The reserves finished fourth on the ladder (just a game behind second-placed Forest Hill) so take on Kilsyth in the first semi-final at Mitcham Reserve, at midday on Sunday. With well over 30 players eligible for selection, there were a few disappointed boys after selection. So congratulations to the 22 players chosen to run out this weekend, we look forward to a win and a preliminary final next week.
The seniors finished their season on a high, defeating Nunawading by 131 points. Chris Smith kicked 10 goals to finish with 82 for the season (won the comp by 14 gaols), Kane Henden and Nick Snibson both kicked four and Matt Goodings three. Those four all featured in our best, along with Ryan Kennedy and Zac Tempany. They finished the season on six wins and a percentage on 99.19, showing we were competitive in most matches.
Sponsor of the Week
Nunawading Toyota has been a wonderful supporter and sponsor of Surrey for the last few years and supported us with the major prize in our reverse raffle. Now we need to give them our support, go and see them at 275 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading and tell them you’re from Surrey!
