From Jack Lumby in Airlie Beach
Due to the ongoing weather conditions that we have been experiencing in the Whitsundays we have had to transfer our Whitsunday 12s Carnival from South Molle Island to Airlie Beach on the mainland. The surface of the island ground is not suitable at this time. We regret to have to change the venue at such late notice as many of you were looking forward to the event.
Fortunaly we have been able to relocate the event to our home ground in Airlie Beach. There are change rooms, social rooms etc onsite so you will be well catered for. We have been able to get some great accommodation deals in Airlie Beach and the local businesses are getting right behind us. Due to the unpredictablity of mother nature we have had a Plan B up our sleeve to ensure the success of this event. The nightlife, restaurants, tours and family friendly atmosphere of Airlie Beach will add to the overall experience.
To those that have booked dates and accommodation do not despair as I will be in touch with you to offer alternatives. We have been able to secure some special accommodation deals and Club Crocodile have come on board as a major sponsor. I will be sending out an email tomorrow containing relevant info and pricing.
As with all Queenslanders over the past six months we just go on with Plan B and make the most of it. With the The Whitsunday12s Carnival to be held over Easter now being held in Airlie Beach more of the local community will be able to enjoy it as well as the better pricing options.

Jack Lumby
