The Bayside Bombers were narrowly beaten by East Springwood 7.17.59 to 6.8.44 in their Superrules division clash at Yeronga last Sunday.
The game was played in very hot tropical conditions and while several players were missing from the Bombers side those who took the field did the team and themselves proud.
The first half opened goal for goal with both sides applying great pressure.
The Bombers backline led by Mal West and Gary Rogers stopped many Easts' attacks while centre players Time, Muzza and Smithy got plenty of football.
In an even first half, Bombers led 3.6 to 2.8.
After the drinks break, in which plenty were had, both sides kept up the pressure seen in the first half.
It was certainly going to be the survival of the fittest and unfortunately luck went against the Bombers and Easts ran out winners.
Bombers goal scorers: C Benson, J Osborne, M Weimers, L Cowan, Regan.
This Sunday, June 23 the Bombers play Aspley Centrals at Alex Hills at 10am.
