THE Macfloors Bayside Bombers were beaten by the better side in their Masters AFL game against the Sunshine Coast at Maroochydore on Saturday night.
The Bombers started well with goals to Taylor and Worrell in what was an even first quarter.
The second quarter saw the Sunny Coast boys take control by kicking eight unanswered goals to take a handy lead at halftime, with key Bomber defender Brett Knight taking no further part in the game after injuring his knee.
The second half saw a tight game from both sides as the Bombers defence led by Billy Maslin and Ben Walsh continually rebounded the Coast boys' efforts by turning defence into attack.
Baysides forward line of 'House' McDonald and John Bishop tried hard for the Bombers without return.
The game was forever stop/start as both sides fought for possession of the football on the smallish ground which resulted in many ball ups.
The Sunshine Coast again outscored the Bayside in the final quarter to run out comfortable winners 13.15.95 to 2.6.18.
Goals Worrell 1, Taylor 1 Best Maslin (Grand View Hotel Best on Ground) Apted, Tait, Kath, Walsh.
